A planned London Underground strike has been suspended following talks between the Asleaf union and Transport for London (TfL) over pay.
Strike action is due to begin on Thursday, with strikes planned for next Tuesday.
Aslev said London Underground management had offered him a “significantly higher” pay package and would discuss the offer with union members on Thursday.
Claire Mann, of TfL, said: “We believe the offer we are making to the unions is fair, affordable and good for our colleagues and for London, and we urge the unions to continue to work with us.”
Finn Brennan, from Aslef, said the union was “pleased” that strike action had been avoided at this time.
He said he could not reveal any further details until after Thursday’s meeting.
The RMT union called off plans to strike on Friday after Transport for London proposed a pay rise.
