After days of Israeli attacks, only one doctor remains at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, a Hamas health ministry spokesman said.
In a statement on the film, Dr. Khalil Daklan urged international organizations to send medical personnel to hospitals in the north of the region, saying patients there were bleeding to death due to a lack of proper care.
On Monday, Israel said its troops had detained about 100 “terrorists” in hospitals before withdrawing.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the hospital in the Jabaliya refugee camp had been used by Hamas, but local health officials denied this.
Mr Dachlan said: “Two days ago, the army attacked Kamal Adwan Hospital and caused massive damage: burning most of the building, destroying the entrance to the hospital and tearing down surrounding walls.
“Patients and medical staff were attacked, and many patients and colleagues were arrested, as well as most of the medical staff.
“The fate of the 30 medical staff remains unknown.
“The military has completely taken the hospital out of service and destroyed everything inside. There are now no medicines, medical supplies or food in the hospital.”
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it had completed a “precision operation targeting Hamas terrorist strongholds” at the hospital.
The IDF said it had taken steps to minimize civilian casualties and facilitate the evacuation of hospitals. The statement added that troops found weapons, cash and documents belonging to Hamas during the raid.
The Israel Defense Forces said some Hamas militants, including some linked to the October 7 attack last year, disguised themselves as medical personnel.
Health officials said the Israeli attack injured hospital staff and killed patients.
The Israeli army has released a video purportedly showing the interrogation of an ambulance driver who worked at Kamal Adwan Hospital.
The BBC was unable to verify the authenticity of the video, which showed the suspected driver’s face blurred. The man said Hamas militants were operating at the hospital.
He said Hamas used ambulances to transport militants on their missions, adding: “We have had enough. [Hamas] Stationed in hospitals, stationed in schools.
The northern Gaza Strip is facing a deepening humanitarian crisis, with hundreds of thousands of civilians living in increasingly desperate conditions.
Mr Dachlan said: “The situation in northern Gaza is catastrophic: there is no water, food or baby formula. Infrastructure is destroyed and sewage and waste are piling up among the population, leading to the spread of disease and epidemics.”
“Israeli forces are putting entire populations at risk of bombing, siege and starvation,” UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Walker Türk said on Friday.
“The Israeli government’s policies and practices in northern Gaza threaten to empty the area of all Palestinians. We are faced with situations that may amount to atrocity crimes, including the potential to extend to crimes against humanity,” Mr. Türk added.
He also said that reports of Palestinian armed groups operating among civilians, including in shelters for displaced persons, and subjecting them to harm were unacceptable.
Many Palestinians believe the Israeli military is implementing the so-called “General Plan” in the north, which would force the entire estimated 400,000 civilians there to the south and then round up any remaining Hamas fighters.
The Israeli military denies any such plans and says it is ensuring civilians are protected from harm.
Israel launched a campaign to destroy Hamas after it launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, killing approximately 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages.
Since then, more than 42,000 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the region’s health ministry.
