Strictly Come Dancing pro Amy Dowden will miss Saturday’s show after falling ill during filming over the weekend.
Professional dancer Lauren Oakley will take her place, paired with Dowden’s celebrity partner JB Gill.
A spokesman for Strictly Come Dancing said: “Amy Dowden MBE is doing much better and the Strictly family have sent her their love and wish her all the best.
“She is delighted that professional dancer Lauren Oakley will be attending rehearsals and performing in Mr and Mrs JB Gill’s chosen dance program on Saturday. We all hope Amy will be back dancing with JB next week.”
It was previously announced that Oakley would train with Gill, a former member of boy band JLS, on Monday.
But the BBC confirmed the pair will stay together for the rest of the week, including Saturday night’s TV show and Sunday’s results show.
Dowden collapsed backstage during Saturday night’s main show. An ambulance was called to Elstree Studios in Boreham Wood on Saturday when Dowden began to feel unwell.
She returned to the Strictly line-up this year after missing the 2023 series after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
A spokesman for the dancer said “as a precaution we called an ambulance” and that she was now “feeling much better”.
Oakley, who has no celebrity co-star this year, joins the BBC show in 2022.
Last year, Oakley worked with Channel 4 News presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy. The pair finished eighth.
Gill and Dowden performed the foxtrot in Toploader’s Dancing In The Moonlight on Saturday night, scoring 32 points.
Dowden did not appear in Sunday night’s results show as she was taken to hospital ahead of the shooting.
The 32-year-old dancer was initially diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in May 2023 after discovering a lump in her breast the day before leaving for her honeymoon.
Later that year, the now 34-year-old was diagnosed with “another cancer” and began chemotherapy.
She returned to the hospital in August 2024 for further examination as doctors were concerned about abnormalities in her breasts after examination. She later gave the all-clear.
Dowden also suffers from Crohn’s disease – a lifelong condition that causes inflammation of part of the digestive system – and has previously spoken out about the impact it has had on her health.
