Singer Raye says a book she wrote songs for her upcoming second album was lost after the car she was traveling in was stolen.
The star has been working on the follow-up to her multi-BRIT Award-winning debut My 21st Century Blues.
But she revealed in an Instagram post: “It’s my birthday, my car was stolen, and all my songwriting books are in the trunk, so there won’t be a second album anytime soon, love you bye.”
Raye also posted a photo of a cake for her 27th birthday that read, “Sorry, your car was stolen.”
Raye is best known for her single “Escapism”, a hit single from her debut album.
She has also appeared in a series of other top ten hits such as Bed (with Joel Corry and David Guetta), Prada (with Cassö and D-Block Europe) and Secrets (with Regard).

But it took a long time to get there. In 2021, five years after she signed, her label still refuses to release his debut album, prompting the singer to ask to be released from her contract.

In the years leading up to her album’s final release, Raye also collaborated with Mabel, Jax Jones, Rudimental and Disclosure.
