King Charles took part in a traditional Samoan ceremony, drinking kava, a ceremonial drink made from the root of the plant.
During his visit to the country, he was also declared the “High Chief” of the islands.
King Charles and Queen Camilla are on a three-day visit to Samoa ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in the island nation.
The monarch is the symbolic head of the Commonwealth.
