The BBC has confirmed that the final episode of Gavin & Stacey has been filmed.
“This is…the last ever ending,” the BBC said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The show’s co-creators James Corden and Ruth Jones confirmed this back in May Gavin and Stacey will be back The final episode – will air on Christmas Day.
Filming began in September, with fans of the sitcom queuing to watch the show’s stars at iconic filming locations in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Alison Steadman, who plays Gavin’s mother Pam, said emotions were running high as filming wrapped on Monday night.
“I have to say when we finished, we shed a lot of tears because we were all so close,” she said on the show. Women’s Hour on BBC Radio 4.
“The filming was really exciting, it really was.
“It’s been a real experience, 17 years since we made the first series. Really, it doesn’t get any better than this.
“It has to be one of my favorite and most fun jobs.”
Last month, hundreds of people turned up in Bali to get a glimpse Ruth Jones and James Corden while filming some of the show’s first scenes.
Some fans have been paying attention ever since.
“We’ve been here a few times in the last few weeks,” said Karen Ash, 61, from Cwmbran, at the end of filming at Pam and Mick’s Essex house, which was actually set in Dee Photographed by Nasbois.
“I’ve been everywhere,” said Owain Cleese, 22, from Barrie.
“I’m the biggest, biggest fan… I love them all, but I have to say, the one I miss the most is Doris.
“It put Barry on the map. If people were coming from the UK, they might think ‘Oh, let’s go to Barry. Oh, that’s Gavin and Stacey’s place – let’s go there!
Gavin and Stacey originally ran for three series between 2007 and 2010, following a young couple played by Matthew Horne and Joanna Page, although one of them lived in Essex , the other lives in south Wales but they are still pursuing a relationship.
The show last returned in 2019, when the Christmas special ended with Nessa proposing to Smithy.
Some fans already think they know what to expect.
“I think I might have seen a spoiler – but I’m not going to say it,” Karen said.
“I’m not going to tell you what my ending is – that’s a spoiler. I think it’s that way anyway!
The final episode of Gavin & Stacey will be broadcast on BBC iPlayer and BBC One on December 25.
