Shortly after the assassination of Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, Greg Smith told the BBC that he saw the gunman on the roof of a nearby building and tried to call police.
BBC North America correspondent Gary O’Donoghue returned to Butler to talk to Smith about that day in July.
Smith remembers thinking in confusion and frustration: “Why doesn’t anyone do something?”
