Coldplay will play an unprecedented 10 nights at London’s Wembley Arena next summer, breaking the record held by Taylor Swift and Take That.
The band originally announced a six-night run at the stadium next summer, but added four additional shows due to “tremendous demand” from a fan-only pre-sale on Thursday morning.
General ticket sales start at 9am on Friday 27th September, with prices starting at £20 (plus fees).
Unlike Oasis, the band refuses to use Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model – where ticket prices adjust based on demand. “All ticket prices for these concerts are fixed at the advertised price,” a message on the company’s website said.
The 2025 tour dates are in support of the band’s tenth album, Moon Music, which will be released on October 4.
As well as Wembley, the band will play two nights at Craven Park Stadium in Hull.
50% of tickets for these shows will be given to local fans living in the HU, YO, DN or LN zip code.
These 12 concerts will be the orchestra’s only concerts in Europe in 2025.
Earlier this year, the band headlined Glastonbury Festival, with Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox and a host of other musicians including rapper Little Simz, Nigerian musician Femi Kuti and Palestinian-Chilean singer Elyanna. Got on the stage.
In a series of five-star reviews, The Independent called the show “A once in a lifetime spectacle” And the “Guardian” said that if it is not surrounded by a bunch of “Cartoons are fun”.
Movie star Tom Cruise, who watched the show from a VIP area on one side of the Pyramid stage, simply called the concert “amazing”.
During the show, the band also previewed songs from their upcoming album, with frontman Chris Martin hinting that it could be their last album.
“Our last official record will be out in 2025 and after that I think we’ll just be touring,” he told BBC Radio 2’s Jo Whiley in 2021.
“Maybe we’ll do some collaborative stuff, but Coldplay’s catalog, so to speak, will be over at that point.”
However, he later retracted those comments, telling NME that the band still had two records remaining.
“We’re going to make 12 albums. Because it takes a lot of work to make them,” he explains. “I love it, it’s great, but it’s also very intense.”
Coldplay 2025 tour pre-sale tickets On sale Thursday morning Dedicated to fans who have pre-ordered Moon Music.
According to social media sources, the first batch of dates sold out in about 20 minutes.
One fan reported that a message flashed on the Ticketmaster website at 09:22 saying: “Update: There are currently no tickets available for this presale.”
Recognizing this demand, Coldplay have added four additional shows at Wembley, with pre-sales starting at 2:30pm BST.
The ten-show residency means Coldplay will become the band to play the most shows at the world-famous stadium in a year.
Taylor Swift and Take That previously tied for the record, both playing eight nights.
Coldplay previously played six dates at Wembley during their 2022 world tour, meaning their tour total will double their previous record.
The orchestra strives to reduce the environmental impact of its concerts and announced earlier this year that they had achieved Carbon dioxide emissions reduced by 59% Compared to their previous world tours.
They are also grappling with rising ticket prices, offering “unlimited tickets” for £20 per show.
They are sold in pairs and can be placed anywhere on the venue – including the best seats.
For the Wembley match, two tickets will cost around £52 when fees (including the stadium’s £2.75 sustainability fee) are added.
