Comedian Jenny Godley has revealed she is receiving hospice care after her cancer spread.
In a video posted on social media, the 63-year-old from Glasgow said he was receiving hospice care in hospital and would go to a hospice.
She thanks the NHS, friends and family for all the support she has received.
“This is devastating news – but we will all come to an end one day,” she said.
Last week, the comedian canceled her Why Are You Still Here? Qiu You was admitted to the hospital again on the advice of his doctor.
Godley, who rose to fame for filming Nicola Sturgeon’s coronavirus briefings during the pandemic, revealed she had ovarian cancer in November 2021.
She recovered in 2022, but later scans revealed signs of the disease again.
In a video posted on X, she said: “Chemotherapy is no longer an option, I can’t take it anymore. And the cancer has spread.”
“So it looks like this is coming to an end – and it’s hard to talk to people about it.”
She thanked the NHS, hospitals and staff who cared for her, “and the little woman who held my hand and made me tea”.
She added: “It was devastating news to learn that I was facing the end of my life, but we all have our end.
“The overwhelming support has been amazing and I don’t know how long I have left before anyone asks.
“Thank you all for the love, I really appreciate all the love and support you’ve given me.”
Godley, who was born in Glasgow in 1961, is a regular co-presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends and hosts the BBC Radio 4 series C Bomb.
In 2023 she was awarded the inaugural Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
