Jill Scott’s chart-topping album Who Is Jill Scott? “Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol I” (Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol I)’s 20th anniversary tour was forced to end early due to the epidemic and will resume later.
Scott announced that she will return to the show next year, where she will perform the album in its entirety, including her hits like “Gettin’ in the Way,” “A Long Walk” and others.
The tour is produced by Live Nation Urban and will perform in more than 20 markets across the country. Scott will also perform special multi-show performances over Mother’s Day weekend at the MGM National Harbor in Washington, D.C., and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Philadelphia, Scott’s hometown of Philadelphia. It marked the North Philly native’s first time playing there.
The Philadelphia station will host a fundraiser at the Arden Theater to support Scott’s nonprofit, the Blues Baby Foundation.
“Three years ago, my band and I were so excited, but then the damn coronavirus stopped us,” Scott said in a press release. “Now, let’s go outside! Come see me. Feel it again. Relive your favorite moments. Are you ready to settle down and accept this? There’s so much love here.
Scott released her debut record in July 2000. album (2001) and Best Female R&B Vocalist for three consecutive years (2001-2003).
Pre-sales for Scott’s tour will begin on December 6th.
The tour kicks off in February at Bell Auditorium in Augusta, Georgia.
